The 2013 Spring/Summer fashion ad campaigns are set out and some seem to amaze me more than others. Saint Laurent (formerly known and missed by many as Yves Saint Laurent) was a top pick. Though kept rather simple, the dark black tone set out a mystery for which I craved to solve.
The dim light on the models face (which is rarely seen), simplicity in colour, tone and background put a natural focus on the clothes and overall style. While still reaching for theYSL heritage, the brand had a fresh modern feel, it is so sexy and refreshing to see an ad like this. With the developing brand, Slimane is creating a new approach that is appropriate and reflects the brands unfolding changes. If he is going to make a change, he better make it look real damn good and here he did.
